Semolina (Rava/ sooji) french fry recipe





Ingredients :
  • 1 cup semolina(Rava/ sooji)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • salt and chili flakes for seasoning 
  • oil for frying
Method:

In a pan, add semolina, water and salt. Mix well. Cook it 5 minutes on the low flame. Now turn off the flame. Now transfer in a plate and keep aside to cool down. After 10 minutes knead the dough. Add 2 tbsp oil into dough and mix well. Divide in to 3-4 portions. Now take a dough ball and start rolling the dough a medium thick circle using a rolling pin. Now take a sharp knife and cut it in 1 cm. thick fingers. Put it in a plate and get ready to deep fry. Heat oil in a pan over moderate flame. Deep fry them in batches till light golden color, ensuring they do not stick, and remove. Remove excess oil using tissue paper or kitchen towel. Sprinkle salt and chili flakes to season. Serve it hot as a snack with tomato ketchup.
