How to make the perfect pizza base easily recipe in a pan or kadhai

 Ingredients :
  • 500gm. wheat flour / all-purpose flour 
  • 1 tbsp sugar 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1 tbsp dried yeast 
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or sunflower oil 
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
Method : 

Combine the water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Set aside for 10 minutes. Combine the flour, oil, and salt in a big mixing bowl. Add the yeast mixture and mix well with your hands to bring the dough together in the bowl. Brush a bowl lightly with oil. Turm the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until smooth. Now place in the prepared bowl and turn to coat in oil. Cover with plastic wrap or muslin cloth and set aside in a warm place to rise for 1 hour or until dough doubles in size. Dust work surface with flour. Knead the dough and form into a long cylinder. Divide into 4-5 portions. Use a rolling pin to roll each portion into a 20cm disc. Now prick with a fork and place on a baking tray or aluminum foil sheet. Keep aside for 20-30 minutes.

Baking process :

Take a thick bottomed pan or kadhai. Keep some salt or sand in it. Next, place a steel baking ring and aluminum dish. Place the pan on the stove and heat the salt/sand on a medium flame. This is like preheating the oven. Now carefully place a baking tray or aluminum foil on the salt inside the preheated pan. Cover with a lid and bake for 5 minutes on a medium flame. After five minutes open the pan and flip pizza base carefully. Bake another side again 8-10 minutes on a low flame. Now check whether pizza base is done. Remove the pizza base from the pan and let it cool a little before dressing it with your toppings or allow to cool completely if using later.  You can be wrapped tightly with a plastic wrap and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
