Paneer(cottage cheese) tikka masala sandwich recipe on the Tawa

Ingredients :
  • 8 bread slices 
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (paneer) cubes 
  • 1 tbsp gram flour(Besan)
  • 1/2 cup curd 
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes or 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp dry fenugreek leaves(Kasuri methi)
  • 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce 
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil 
Method :

For the Tikka masala-

Combine all the ingredients except onion, butter and bread in a bowl. Mix well and keep aside to marinated 10 minutes. Heat butter in a pan, add chopped onion saute for 1 minute. Add marinated paneer and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the flame.

Make the sandwiches-

Spread out the filling evenly on a slice of bread. Add few chopped onion, you can also used tomato slice, coriander chutney for extra flavours, if you want. Now cover it with another slice of bread and press gently to bind the bread slices together. Heat a tawa or a pan and spread some oil or butter on it. Place the sandwich on the tawa on a low- medium flame and toast for a minute till the lower side turn golden brown and crisp. Then flip the sandwich and repeat for the other side. Paneer tikka masala sandwiches are ready. Serve it hot with Tomato sauce.
