Mumbai street food (Papdi chaat) recipe




Ingredients :

Serving for one plate, 
  • 7 pieces papdi 
  • 1 medium potato, boiled, peeled and chopped or mashed 
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt 
  • some coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp green chutney 
  • 2 tbsp tamarind sweet chutney 
  • 7 tbsp thick yogurt or curd
  • 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala powder 
  • Nylon sev and dried boondi (optional) for garnishing 
Method :

Take mashed potato in a bowl, add salt, some onion, and coriander leaves. Mix and keep it aside. Now take curd in a bowl and whisk well till it is smooth.
Arrange 7 papdis on a serving plate. Top with potatoes, onion and coriander mixture. Then add green chutney on each papdi. Now top each papdi with about a tablespoon of whisk curd. Sprinkle chaat masala and cumin powder on the top. Drizzle with 2 tbsp tamarind sweet chutney on each papdi. Lastly sprinkle some onion, sev and boondi. Serve it immediately.
