Methi na Gota or Methi ke pakore (Fenugreek leaves pakore) recipe




Ingredients :

  • 1 bowl Fenugreek leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 cup gram flour (Besan)
  • 1 tbsp crushed coriander seeds 
  • 1 pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp sugar 
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda 
  • 2-3 tbsp lemon juice 
  • Oil for frying 
Method :

 In a big mixing bowl add 1/2 cup water, salt, sugar, chopped green chilies, coriander seeds, Hing. Mix them. Now add lemon juice and baking soda. Mix well. Add gram flour and make a thick batter. Now add Fenugreek leaves. Mix well, make a smooth batter with thick consistency. Heat enough oil in a deep fry pakoras. Take a spoon full of batter and slide in the hot oil. Drop as many pakoras as possible at once in the pan. Fry until they get golden brown color and fluffy.  Keep the flame medium or medium-high. Drain out the fried pakoras or gotas on a plate. Serve it hot with tomato sauce, chutney and fried green chilli.
