Rajma (kidney beans) kebab or tikki recipe (Healthy)





Ingredients : 
  • 1 cup Rajma (Kidney beans)
  • 2-3 medium potatoes, boiled, peel and mashed 
  • 1 tsp garlic grated or paste 
  • 1 tsp ginger paste or grated 
  • 1 tbsp mint leaves, chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp cornflour 
  •  salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder 
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/2 cup cabbage, grated 
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1-2 tbsp oil for shallow fry 
Method:

Soak rajma overnight in water. Put the rajma and one cup of water in a pressure cooker and cook till 2-3 whistles. Drain the water from the pressure cooker and keep the rajma aside in a big bowl.

Now, in that big bowl, mash the rajma properly using a masher. Put boiled potatoes in the bowl and mash it till the mashed boiled potatoes are thoroughly incorporated with the mashed rajma. Add in grated cabbage, mint, green chillies, red chilli powder, onion, garlic, ginger, cornflour, salt, cumin powder, lemon juice and garam masala. Thoroughly combine all the ingredients together.

Take a lemon sized quantity of the mixture and flatten it into a patty (tikki) shape. Shallow fry these patties (tikkis) on a hot tava using one tablespoon of oil until golden in colour. Take it out on a paper towel. Serve with chutney and sauces of your choice.
