Raw banana tikki or cutlet for falahari(Fasting) recipe





Ingredients :
  • 3 Raw bananas boiled, peeled and mashed 
  • 4-5 potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped 
  • 2-3 tbsp coriander leaves or curry leaves finely chopped 
  •  Rock salt to taste (sendha nmk)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder or crushed 
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder 
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1 tbsp ghee for shallow fry 
Method : 

In a big bowl or big plate add mashed banana, potato, green chilli, rock salt, cumin powder, black pepper powder, coriander or curry leaves and lemon juice. Mix well with hand. Divide the banana and potatoes mixture into 6-7 portions and make the flat tikki as shown in the pictures below. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle. Grease the bottom with some ghee. Shallow fry both sides of the bananas and potato tikkies until they are a golden colour on the medium flame. Tikkies or cutlet are ready to serve. Serve it hot with any fruit chutney.
