Desiccated coconut Laddoo without Milkmade recipe

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups homemade desiccated coconut or coconut powder (I used fresh desiccated coconut) 
  • 1 cup full cream milk 
  • 1 cup sugar  
  • 1 tsp ghee 
  • 8-10 cashew nuts 
  • 1 tbsp raisins  
  • few pistachio, chopped 
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder 
  • a pinch of saffron (soaked in 2 tbsp milk)

Method :

Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts and fry them till golden brown colour. Now transfer it to a plate.
In the same pan, add milk and sugar, mix well. Bring it to a boil and reduce the flame and cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes. Add coconut and mix well. After 2-3 minutes, add saffron and again Cook on a low flame till the moisture goes off and the mixture becomes crumbly. Add cashew, raisin, pistachio and cardamom powder, mix well. Turn off the flame. Allow the mixture to cool for 10-15 minutes. Now take small portions of the mixture and shape them into laddoos. You can store in an air-tight container.
