Capsicum with chickpeas (simla mirchi aur kabuli chana) masala sabzi recipe




Ingredients :
  • 2 big capsicum, remove seeds and chopped
  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas 
  • 1 medium onion, chopped 
  • 2-3 tbsp onion paste 
  • 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste 
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds 
  • 2 tbsp oil 
Method :

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add half chopped onion, chopped capsicum and saute for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Add in boiled chickpeas and saute for few seconds. Remove sauteed capsicum and chickpeas on a plate. Now the same pan, add another tbsp oil, cumin seeds and bay leaf. When they are starting to crackle, add onion and saute for 1 minute. Add garlic-ginger paste, onion paste, saute for 1 minute on medium flame. Now add all spices and salt. Mix and cook for 4-5 minutes on low flame. Add sauteed capsicum with chickpeas and mix well. Add the little water(1/4 cup water) and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the flame. Serve it with paratha, chapati and rice.
