Packaged Milk's Spongy Rasgulla Recipe



Ingredients :
  • 2 litres packaged cow milk
  • 4 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice 
  • 1 cup sugar 
  • 4 cup water 
  • 1 tbsp Rosewater and 1/4 tsp cardamom powder (optional) 
Method :

For making chenna- 

Heat milk in a vessel, when it starts boiling, switch off the flame. Add vinegar or lemon juice and stir properly. Stir it until the whey water clearly separates. Now pour everything in a muslin lined strainer and wash it well with chilled water. Squeeze the excess water and hang it aside for half hour. Now take out the chenna (cottage cheese) in a big plate and knead it gently till it becomes soft and smooth (approximately for 20-25 minutes). Now make smooth equal sized small balls of chenna and keep aside.

For making Rasgulla-

In a pressure cooker, add 4 cup water and sugar. When the water start boiling and the sugar is dissolved completely, add chenna balls carefully one by one. Cover the cooker and cook it for 4-5 whistles and then turn off the flame. After 15 minutes open the lid and transfer them to another bowl. Serve it hot or chilled.
