Vegan Homemade Pasta In Marinara Sauce Recipe




Ingredients :

For the pasta dough-
  • 1 cup wheat flour 
  • 2 tbsp all- purpose flour 
  • 2 tbsp semolina
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil 
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano  
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • Warm water as required 
For the marinara sauce-
  • 1/2 kg tomato
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 medium onion, chopped 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar 
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder 
  • Chilli flakes and dried herbs for seasoning 
Method :

To make the pasta-

Sieve the wheat flour and all-purpose flour together. Add semolina, salt, oregano, and butter or olive oil, and rub with your palms for a minute. Now add warm water as required to make a soft dough. Keep the dough in the fridge to rest for a1 hour.

After 1 hour take the dough out and knead for 2-3 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll out medium thin rounds like an Indian bread (Roti). Cut it lengthwise (ribbons shape) with a knife or pizza cutter and keep aside. Boil plenty of water in a deep bottom pan and add 1 tbsp oil. Put pasta in the boiling water. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente (firm to bite). Drain the water and keep aside the pasta.

To make the sauce-

Heat a pan, add 2 glasses of water and bring it to a boil. Add the tomatoes and let it cook. After the tomatoes are cooked in the boiling water, remove them and keep aside to cool. Now peel boiled tomato, chop them and make a puree.

Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and onion, saute for 1 minute. Add tomato puree, salt, sugar and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for 10 minutes on a medium flame. Now open the lid and stir well, add black pepper powder and vinegar and mix well.

Now add the prepared homemade pasta. Cook for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame. Transfer to a serving plate. Seasoning with chilli flakes and dried herbs seasoning.
