Spicy Taro Stir-fry Recipe





Ingredients :
  • 1 large Taro root 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp onion paste 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 fennel seeds
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • 3 tbsp oil 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp lime or lemon juice
Method :

Peel the taro and cut off the ends. Chop into thin slices and keep aside. Heat 3 tbsp oil and fry taro slices until golden brown. Remove it and keep aside. In the same pan, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, bay leaf and crackle them. Add onion and saute for 1 minute. Add garlic-ginger paste and onion paste. Saute for 2 minutes. Now add all spices, salt and 2-3 tbsp water. Mix well. Add fried taro slices and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and put lemon juice over. Serve it with rice, chapatis, paratha, puri.
