Stuffed red chilli (Bharwa laal mirchi) recipe

Ingredients :
  • 5-6 red chillies, 
  • 1 medium size potato, peeled and mashed
  • 2 tbsp sweet corn (makai dana)
  • 1 tbsp green gram sprouts 
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
  • a pinch of turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 garam masala 
  • 1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur powder)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds 
  • few curry leaves  
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil for shallow frying 
Method :
Wash and dry red chillies. Slit the red chillies and remove all seeds, keep it aside. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, crackle them. Add chopped onion and saute for few seconds. Add sweet corn, sprouts, salt, sugar, turmeric and garam masala powder, saute for 1 minute on low flame. Now add mashed potato, mix and saute for 1 minute on medium flame. Remove it from the heat and add amchur powder, coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well. Take a slit red chilli and stuff it with the potato mixture. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a tawa or pan, place the stuffed chillies in the tawa and shallow fry for 1 minute. Remove it. Serve it with chapati, paratha or any dishes.
