Vegetables Wanton Recipe






Ingredients :

For the dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour 
  • 2 tbsp cornflour 
  • 1/4 tsp salt 
  • 2 tbsp oil or 1 tbsp ghee or butter
  • Warm water, as required 
  • Oil for frying 
For the filing
  • 1/2 cup green beans, finely chopped 
  • 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 1/2 cup green peas 
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped 
  • 1 tbsp garlic, grated or finely chopped 
  • 2 tbsps SPRIG Syracuse spice blend
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1 tbsp oil 

Method :

For the dough
In a big bowl add all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt and oil or ghee or butter and mix well. Add warm water and make a smooth dough. Keep it aside for resting.

To make filling
Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, onion, green chilli, saute for few seconds. Add all vegetables and salt and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add Sprig's Syracuse spice blend and mix it well. Turn off the flame.

For assembling
Divide the dough into small balls and roll out each one into a thin circle. Now put the filling in the centre of each circle or poori. Take some drops of water and apply to the half edge to seal it by folding. Now again join the two edges by applying some drops water. You can refer the images below for picture tutorial for the same. You have to follow the same process with every poori. Heat oil in a frying pan, deep fry them till golden brown in colour and crisp. Remove them on a kitchen towel or tissue paper. Serve it hot with any sweet sauce or green chutney.
