Bread Pizza Ball Recipe

These Bread Pizza Balls have become the ultimate replacement of pizza in my house. After all, they are very delicious- crisp on the outside and gooey and cheese on the inside, just like how a slice of pizza is- and taste exactly like a pizza. Another plus point is that these are portable and can be packed for tiffins with ease! Try it out. I won't be surprised if this becomes the replacement of pizza at your house too.

For the outer layer:
  • 12 slices of bread
  • Breadcrumbs for rolling
  • 2 tbsp flour + 1 cup of water (Mix them and make a thin batter)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Oil for deep frying
For the stuffing:
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • 1 medium capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp SPRIG Genoa spice blend
  • Salt as required

In a big bowl or a plate, mix all ingredients of the stuffing as listed above. Divide the mixture into 12 portions and make small balls and keep aside. Now take a bread slice and dip it in water to wet it and squeeze it in your palms to remove excess water. Now put the stuffing ball on the bread in its centre. Roll it tightly into a ball and seal the edges. Dip the balls into the flour batter (2 tbsp flour + 1 cup of water) and coat it with bread crumbs. Keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them till golden brown in colour. Remove them on a kitchen towel or tissue paper to absorb excess oil. Serve it hot with tomato sauce.
