Homemade tasty samber masala recipe



Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds 
  • 1 tbsp black pepper 
  • 8-10 dried red chillies 
  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds 
  • 5 cloves 
  • 5 green cardamom 
  • 2 star-anise 
  • 1 small piece cinnamon 
  • 1 small piece nutmeg 
  • 2 tbsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tbsp Bengal gram dal 
  • 1 tbsp split black gram dal
  • 1 tbsp split toor dal 
  • 1 tbsp raw rice 
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 tbsp rock salt 
  • 50 gms. dried seedless tamarind pulp 
Method :
Clean all whole spices by picking and discarding stones.

(1)  Dry everything in the sunlight for 3-4 days and grind them into a fine powder in a grinder. Store it in an airtight container.

OR

(2) Roast lightly until they start releasing their aroma. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool. Put all the roasted spices and tamarind in a blender and make a fine powder. Now add salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder to this and blend well again. Sieve spices powder and store it in an airtight container for long time.
