Green beans with besan and coconut stir-fry recipe

Ingredients :
  • 250 gms. green beans, cut into two parts 
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • 1 green chilli, chopped 
  • 1 tbsp gram flour(besan)
  • 2 tbsp coconut, crushed or grated 
  • salt to taste (little salt)
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • 1/2 tsp, cumin seeds,fennel seeds and mustard seeds
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • a pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp tamarind pulp water 
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves or coriander leaves for garnishing 

Method :
Heat oil in a pan, add all seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and once they start to crackle. Now add green chilli and chopped onion and saute for 1 minute on medium flame. Add gram flour and saute for few seconds. Add chopped beans with salt and mix them, saute for 1 minute on medium flame.  Add all spices powder, coconut, tamarind and 4-5 tbsps water and stir them. Cover and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes on low flame. Turn off the flame. Garnish with mint or coriander leaves. Serve it with chapati, paratha.
