Mohanthal (sweets), easy recipe




Ingredients :
  • 1+1/2 bowls gram flour (Besan)
  • 1 bowl (200 gm.) condensed milk (I used homemade condensed milk)
  • 4 tbsp milk +1 tbsp ghee for besan 
  • 1/2 cup ghee 
  • 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder 
  • 2 tbsp milk 
  • Few dry fruits (cashew nut, Almonds, pistachio), chopped
Method :

In a big bowl, add gram flour, 4 tbsp milk and 1 tbsp ghee. Now mix and rub the mixture between your hands so that it forms a crumb-like consistency. Heat ghee in a pan, add gram flour mixture and stir-fry on the medium flame for 8-10 minutes. Stir the mixture continuously till the color of gram flour changes to light brown. Add few dry fruits and continue stirring. You will also get a very nice aroma once it is properly roasted. Add in the condensed milk and continue stirring the mixture for another 10 minutes on low flame. Notice how the color changes to golden brown. Add, 2 tbsp milk and cardamom powder and dry fruits. Continue stirring the mixture till it starts leaving the sides of the pan and become thick. Now grease a thali with ghee and pour the mixture into it. Garnish with dry fruits. Allow it to cool completely and once it has cooled down cut it into square shape. Mohanthal is ready to be serve. You can also store it in an air-tight container.
