Mirchi (green chili curry) ka salan


 Mirchi ka salan

Ingredients:
  • 5-6 green chillies 
  • 1 tbs coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 small piece jaggery or 1 tbsp grated jaggery
  •  2 tbsp oil 
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • a pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 10-12 curry leaves 
  • salt to taste  
For the paste:
  • 1 big tomato, chopped
  • 1 tbsp onion, chopped
  • 5-6 garlic cloves 
  • 1 small piece ginger 
  • 1 tbsp coconut, chopped or grated 
  • 1 tbsp tamarind 
  • 1 tbsp peanut 
Method :
Wash and dry the chillies. Remove all seeds and stem and keep aside. In a blender, add onion, garlic, ginger, peanut, coconut, tamarind and tomato. And grind it and make a smooth paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing and curry lives and crackle them. Add all dried masala powder. And just add grind paste, salt and jaggery and cook for 5-7 minutes on the medium flame. Add 1/2 bowl of water and mix well. Now add Mirchi (green chillies) and cover with lid. Cook for 10 minutes on lower flame. Turn off the flame. Serve it with chawal, paratha, roti etc as a side dish.
