Dahi wala Anarsa ki recipe

Anarsa is a very popular Diwali snack. Generally, milk is used in making Anarsa dough. I use yoghurt according to my mother's recipe. It tastes sour and sweet.

Ingredients :
  • 1 bowl Rice flour
  • 1 bowl sugar powder
  • 1/2 bowl whisked yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds as required
  • ghee or oil for deep-frying
Methode :
Sieve the rice flour. In a big bowl, add rice flour, sugar powder and yoghurt. Mix them, cover it and keep aside for 1 hour. After 1 hour take the rice flour dough, mix 1 tbsp ghee till it become a soft dough. Heat oil or ghee in a frying pan and put on low flame. Take a small amount of the dough, make a ball and spread poppy seeds or sesame seeds on the upper surface. Drop in hot oil and deep fry, till it becomes golden brown in colour.  Take Anarsa out of frying pan and drain out maximum ghee or oil. Let Anarsa cool and store in air-tight container.
