Onion Kulcha recipe

Ingredients :
For the dough,
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (Maida)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt 
  • 1 tsp sugar 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee 
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda 
  • needed warm water 
For the kulcha filling,
  • 2 big onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder 
  • Ghee or oil for shallow frying 

Method :
All purpose flour, salt, butter, baking soda, baking powder,sugar and milk mix together in a big bowl. Now, add yogurt and mix well. Add enough warm water and knead in to a soft dough. Now cover with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 1-2 hours. After 1-2 hours, open the dough and knead the dough for a minute. Divide the dough into equal portion and keep aside.
Make the filling, in a bowl or plate, add onion, green chilli, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well.

  Divide the onion mixture into equal portion. Now take a ball of dough and fill the onion mixture and making a round ball and spread dry flour on the chakla and pat with light hand, after roll out round roti or paratha with a rolling pin. Now heat a tawa and put kulcha on the tawa. Add 1 tsp oil or ghee  and frying both sides golden brown and remove from the tawa. Serve it with curd, raita, cheese chutney etc.
