Idli Rava ka easy and soft idli recipe

Ingredients :
  • 2 cups Idli Rava
  • 1/2 cup split black gram (urad dal)
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1/2 tsp soda bicarbonate 
  • 1 tsp sugar 

Method :
Wash the Urad dal well under running water and soak in water for 4-5 hours. Soak the Idli Rava in 1+1/2 cup ( one and half cup) of water for at least 2 hours.
After that, drain and grind urad dal into a fine paste by adding 1/4 cup of water. Now transfer it into the soaked idli rava and mix well, do not add more water. In a big vessel cover the idli batter and set aside to ferment for at least 5-6 hours or overnight. Once the batter is fermented, mix once gently. Add enough water to the vessel and set the heat on high and let the water simmer. Now grease the idli mould and fill each idli slot till it is just full or just short of being full. Place the idli stand in the vessel and close the lid and let it steam for 10 minutes. Turn off the flame and open the lid and take the idli stand out. Let the idlis rest for about 5 minutes. Remove the soft idli with a knife out of the mould.
