Chana dal(Bengal gram) stuffed fry kachori recipe



Ingredients :
For the filling,
  • 1 cup chana dal (Bengal gram)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green chillis
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp black salt or according to taste 
  • Oil for deep frying 
For the dough ,
  • 2 cups wheat flour 
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1 tbsp ghee

Method :
For the filling,
Soak the chana dal 3-4 hr. and  drain it. Heat oil in a pan, add  cumin seeds and chili and crackle them. Add soak chana dal and turmeric and cook on medium flame.When chana dal is goes soft, remove it from the flame and keep aside to cool. In a blender, add fried chana dal and grind it make a fine powder of it. Now add chana dal powder, black salt, ginger powder and mix well.

For the dough,
In a big bowl, add wheat flour, salt, ghee and  mix them. Add enough water and knead a soft dough and keep it aside.

 Divide the dough into equal portion. Take a piece of dough and make small ball of it, flatten, dust with flour and fill chana dal and making a small or medium sized round ball. Now dust the surface with flour on the chakla and pat with light hand after rolling round kachori or puri with rolling pin.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan and add the puri, lower the heat and fry till golden brown. Serve it with aloo tamater sabzi or raita or curd.
