Aloo tamatar (potato and tomato curry) ki sabzi recipe


Potato and tomato curry 
Ingredients :
  • 2 big potatoes, boil, peel and cut
  • 1 big onion, chopped 
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped 
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • 1 tbsp coriander 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala 
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • a pinch of nutmeg grated or powder  
  • 1 tsp ghee 
Method :
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin and bay leaf. Add onion and saute for 1 minute. Add all spices and  ginger paste and saute for few seconds. Add tomato and salt and saute till they become soft. Add potatoes and stir again. Add 1 cup of water and mix them. Cook for 5 minutes on high flame. Add nutmeg and ghee and mix well, turn off the flame. Serve it with puri, chapati, paratha.
