Aloo-mutter ke (potato and green peas) paratha recipe



Ingredients :
For the dough,
  • 2 cups flour 
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp baking powder 
  • 2 tbsp ghee or oil 
For the stuffing,
  • 1/2 Kg. potato, boil, peel and mashed
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp  garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp ginger paste 
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp cumin, mustard seeds, carom seeds, onion seeds mixture 
  • 1 tsp urad dal 
  • 2 green chilies, chopped 
  • 10-12 curry leaves 
  • 2 tbsp oil 
  • oil or ghee for shallow fry paratha
Method :
For the stuffing,
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, carom seeds, onion seeds and urad dal, crackle them. Add onion, curry leaves, green chili and saute for few seconds. Add ginger paste and mix them. Add red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala powder and salt and saute for few seconds. Add potato and green peas and saute for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the flame and keep a side.

For the dough,
In a big bowl, add flour, salt, baking powder and ghee, mix well. Add enough water and knead into a soft dough. Divide the dough in 10-12 equal portions. Now roll each portion of the paratha dough in a small puri and put stuffing in it make then put all the edges together and then roll it again into a 10-12 paratha. Heat a tawa and put the paratha on the hot tawa and cook on the medium flame. Add 1 tsp ghee and fry it till it becomes golden brown and remove the plate. Serve hot with curd, pickles or any chutney.
