Poha or chivda and gajar (beaten rice with carrot) cutlet recipe (A healthy tikki)

Ingredients :
  • 1 cup beaten rice (poha or chura)
  • 1 cup grated carrot 
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped 
  • 1 medium size onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder (amchur powder)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala 
  • Oil for shallow fry 
Method :
Wash poha and soak for 10 minutes, drain the water and keep aside. In a big mixing bowl, add soaked poha, grated carrot, green chilli, onion, salt, lemon juice coriander leaves and all spices powder and mix well with hand. Now make medium size balls and press it a bit to flatten like patties
or cutlet. Heat a tava and put 1 tsp oil spread it and place cutlet and fry on medium flame. Add more 1 tsp oil and fry on both the sides until they turn golden brown colour. Remove them. Serve it hot with any chutney or sauce.
