Idli rava with carrot appe in appum patra recipe




Ingredients :
  • 1 bowl idli rava
  • 1/2 cup urad dal 
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped 
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped 
  • 1 tsp curry leaves powder or few carry leaves, chopped 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • a pinch of  asafoetida (Hing)
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tbsp oil 
Method :
Wash and soak urad dal in a bowl for 4-5 hours. In another bowl soak idli Rava in 1/2 bowl water for 15-20 minutes. After that, drain and grind urad dal into a fine paste by adding 1/4 cup of water. Now transfer it into the soaked idli rava bowl and mix well. Now add onion, carrot,chilli, salt, chilli  powder, asafoetida (Hing), curry leaves powder or chopped curry leaves and mix well. Now heat an appum patra sprinkle 1-1 drop of oil in the Appum patra. Pour a tbsp appe mixture to fill each one. Cook in low flame. After 1 minute flip, add more drops of oil if dry. Cook another side until golden brown colour, remove it. Serve it hot with coconut chutney.
