Dahi wali bhindi(yogurt ladyfinger) recipe

Ingredients :
  • 1/2 Kg. bhindi (Ladyfinger)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt with 1/2 cup water, whisked 
  • 1 tbsp gram flour or Besan, mix with 1/2 cup water 
  • 3 tbsps oil 
  • 1 tsp ginger paste 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp onion seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • a pinch of asafoetida(Hing)
  • few curry leaves
  • salt to taste 
Method :
Wash bhindi and dry it with a towel. Remove the stem and cut along the length or pieces of the bhindi and keep aside. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a pan, add bhindi and fry it for 5 minutes on medium flame. Now remove to a plate and keep aside. In the same pan, add a tbsp oil, add cumin, mustard, fennel, onion seeds, hing and curry leaves and crackle them.  Add ginger paste, coriander, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and saute for few seconds on medium flame. Add besan with water make a thin batter and stir fast, stir for a minute on lower flame. Now add, yogurt and mix well. And add, the fried Ladyfinger(Bhindi) and cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame. Serve it with rice, chapati.
