Masoor dal (pink lentils) pakora recipe



Ingredients :
  • 1 cup pink lentils (masoor dal)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • a pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • few curry leaves
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying 
Method :
Soak masoor dal for 4-5 hours or overnight. Drain and grind it with ginger, curry leaves, green chillies without adding water. Add chopped onion, hing and salt to the paste and mix well. Heat oil in a deep fry pan and make small balls from the mixture and deep fry the pakoras till golden brown. Serve it with tomato sauce and any chutney.
