Chana sattu ka paratha recipe





Ingredients :
For dough,
  • 2 cups wheat flour 
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • water for kneaded 
  • Oil for shallow fry 
For filing, 
  • 1 cup chana sattu 
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 1/4 tsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds roasted 
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds roasted 
  • 1/2 tsp Nigella seeds (kalonji) roasted
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil 
Method :
For dough,
In a big bowl, add flour, salt, oil and mix well. And required amount of water to make a soft dough and keep it aside.

For filling,
In a bowl, add chana sattu, salt, onion, garlic-ginger and green chillies paste, lemon juice, roasted cumin, carom, nigella seeds and mustard oil and mix well.
Now divide the dough into small portions and make it into a round shape. Place a portion of the sattu mixture (approx 1 tbsp) in the middle, enfold the filling. Now dust the surface with flour on the chakla and pat with light hand after rolling round roti  or paratha with rolling pin. Heat a tawa and put paratha on the hot tawa and cook on the medium flame. Now add 1 tbsp oil or ghee and fry it till it becomes golden brown and remove the plate. Serve with curd, any chutney and vegetables.
