Bharwa Bhindi (Stuffed Ladyfinger) recipe

Ingredients : 
  • 1/4 Kg. bhindi (Ladyfinger)
  • 1 small onion, grated or paste 
  • 1/2 cup coconut dried or fresh, grated 
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder 
  • a pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp sweet tamarind chutney or tomato sauce 
  • 1 tbsp oil

Method :
Wash bhindi and dry it with a towel. Remove the stem and cut along the length of the bhindi. Do not cut it completely, keep aside. In a bowl or plate, add grated coconut, all spices powder, salt, onion paste and sweet chutney. Mix it well and stuff this mixture into bhindi. Now heat oil in a pan, place the stuffed bhindi on the pan. Cook them on medium flame and keep flipping in between, till they become dark green or light brown in colour, according to your choice. When your bhindi turns soft, turn off the flame. Serve it with paratha, chapati, or rice.
