Banana ka halwa recipe

Ingredients :
  • 4 pieces ripe bananas
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 10-12 cashew nut
  • 1 tbsp pistachio, chopped
  • 5-6 Almonds, chopped
  • a pinch saffron strands (soaked in 2 tbsps of warm milk)
Method :

Peel the bananas, slices them or break them into pieces. In a blender, add banana and sugar. Now grind and make a paste. Heat a heavy bottom pan, adding 2 tbsp ghee and pour the banana paste and milk. Keep stirring on medium to low flame.

When the banana mixture starts thickening, add ghee every now and then. Continue stirring. The halwa absorbs all ghee and starts looking thick. You have to continue stirring for about 15 more minutes. Now add saffron-milk, cashew, almonds, pistachio, cardamom powder and continue stirring for 5 more minutes. Turn off the flame. Now transfer the halwa on to greased plate or tray and use flat ladle to level the surface. Let it cool. If you want, use a sharp knife to cut square halwa pieces. You can put halwa in the freezer for upto a week.
