Soya chunks kheema roll (a healthy) recipe






Ingredients :

For Roti
  • 1 cup wheat flour 
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/3 cup of water
For Filling
  • 1 cup soya chunks 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, grated
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala 
  • 2 tbsp oil 
  • 1/2 cup cheese, grated
  • Tomato sauce 
  • Oil or butter for roll

Method :

For filling-
In a pan, add a glass of water and 1/2 tsp salt. Now bring water to boil, add soya chunks and boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame and keep aside to cool. After it cools down, drain the water and wash the soya chunks twice. Now squeeze out all excess water completely from the soya chunks with your hands. Then blend it in a blender just for 5-6 seconds. Transfer to a bowl or plate, add onion, garlic, green chilli, salt, garam masala powder and red chilli powder. Heat oil in a pan, add the ground soya chunks and cook until all the moisture evaporates and it becomes a little dry. Remove from heat and keep aside.

Now preparation for roti-
In a bowl mix flour, salt and oil. Add water to make firm and smooth dough, adjust the water as per the need. Divide into 4-5 equal parts. Now take a part of the dough ball and press both sides of it in dry flour, this will help in rolling. Roll the dough thin. Now heat the tawa over medium-high and sprinkle few drops of oil or butter. Place the roti over tawa for about few seconds, roti will change in the colour lightly and puff  at different places. Now flip the roti over and lightly press, flip it again roti should have light golden colour on both sides. Now put 2 tbsps of soya chunks kheema over the roti, sprinkle 1 tbsp grated cheese and tomato sauce (place the stuffing as shown in the picture). Wrap roll it length wise. Remove the roll from the flame. Serve with tomato sauce.
