Kesar Doodh peda (saffron milk peda) recipe





Ingredients :
  • 1-litre full cream milk
  • 4 tbsp sugar 
  • 1/2 cup cashew powder (kaju ka powder)
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder 
  • 2 pinch of saffron strands 
  • 2 tbsp warm milk 
  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachio for garnishing 
Method :

In 2 tbsp warm milk, add saffron and keep aside for 15-20 minutes. Now in a heavy bottom pan, add milk. Heat the milk and once the milk starts boiling continue stirring it continuously. When the milk reduces to half, add saffron milk, sugar and keep stirring. After some time, milk will start becomes thick. Now add cashew powder and mix well. Turn off the flame. Transfer into other plate and add in cardamom powder and pistachio and mix them. Allow the mixture to cool down, when it is slightly warm grease your hand and take lime-sized portion, then make them into small balls and flatten gently. Garnish with finely chopped nuts and it is ready to be served.
