Dahi wala soya chunks (Soya chunks with curd) recipe




Ingredients :

  • 1 cup soya chunks 
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • 2 cloves (Loung)
  • 1small stick of cinnamon (dalchini)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 1 onion paste  
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 4 tbsp cashew nuts paste 
  • 1/2 cup whisked curd 
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil

Method :
In a pan or pressure cooker boil soya chunks in the salted water for 5 minutes. Now take out the pan or pressure cooker from the heat and drain all water and put aside. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add half chopped onion and boiled soya chunks and saute for 2-3 minutes on the high flame and remove them from heat. Heat 2 tbsp oil in the same pan, add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon and crackle them. Add chopped onion fry till the colour changes to brown. Now add garlic-ginger paste, saute for few seconds, add onion paste and saute for 1 minute. Add all spices masala powder, green chilli, salt and mix them and saute for 2 minutes on the medium flame.  Now add curd (Dahi) and stir for few seconds and add a bowl water and add stir-fried soya chunks and cook for 5-7 minutes on the medium flame. Now add cashew paste and mix them, cook for more 2 minutes. Turn off the flame. Serve with rice, chapati or paratha etc.
