Ram Laddu recipe





Ingredients :
  • 1 cup Moong dal 
  • 1/2 cup Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 1 onion finely chopped 
  • 2-3 green chillies finely chopped 
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger 
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • Oil for deep frying 
Method :

Wash both dals and soaked overnight or 4-5 hours. Drain water and grind both dals, adding 2-3 tbsp water. Now in a big bowl, add the ground dal paste, onion, green chilli, red chilli powder, lemon juice, salt, hing, ginger, cumin seeds. Now mix and make a fluffy batter using a whisk or a spoon. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and drop little portions of the batter in hot oil, about a small lemon size. Now deep fry pakodas till they are golden yellow in colour. Drain excess oil paper towels. Garnish with onion slices or grated radish. Serve it with green chutney or any sauce.
