- 1 cup soya bean seeds
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 glasses of water
Method :
Soak the beans overnight or for 8-9 hours. Drain water and grind the soak beans. Now, sieve beans through a muslin (thin cotton cloth). Add a glass of water into the sieved beans paste, and sieve again. You will get soya milk.
Now heat soya milk in a heavy bottom pan or pot. When it comes to a boil, add lemon juice, and the soya milk will start curdling. Strain the curdled soya milk through a muslin (thin cotton cloth). Rinse the soya curds under running cold water to remove the smell of the lemon. Now tie the soya curds in the muslin cloth by making a knot to the muslin (cotton cloth), squeeze any excess water and hang it for about 1 hour to further remove water. Now put it into fridge for 1 hour. After 1 hour remove the muslin and cut it to medium cubes shapes. Enjoy your fresh, home-made tofu without any preservatives or chemical!
