Two layered eggless chocolate cake recipe

 Ingredients :

For two cake sponge
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract 
  • 1+1/2 cups powder sugar (one and a half cups)
  • 1+1/2 cups milk 
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or oil 
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder 
For frosting
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract 
  • 1 cup grated chocolate or choco chips for garnishing 
Method :

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease a pan with a tsp oil and dust with flour. Set the pan ready and keep aside. In a large bowl or pan, Sieve flour, baking powder, baking soda and Cocoa powder. Add oil or melted butter, sugar powder and mix well. Add milk, water and  vanilla extract. With a spoon, mix all the ingredients together until well combined and there are no lumps. Divide batter evenly between your 2 cake pans. Pour it into the greased baking pan. Bake in preheat the oven for 35-40 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly pressed and a toothpick or knife inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Now your cake is ready. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack or steel plate to cool down.

Preparation of the Cocoa sauce,

In a saucepan, add water and sugar to boil for 10 minutes on high flame. Now add in butter, milk and mix well and remove once thoroughly combined. After removing, let it thicken a little.

Now after the cake is cooled, frost generously with cocoa chocolate sauce frosting, adding a thick layer between the top and the bottom layer (If doing a two layer cake). And just sprinkle grated chocolate. Garnish with few chocolate pieces on the top and let it settle down. Now chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes to set it. Cut and serve your chocolate cake.
