Saffron (kesar wali) shrikhand recipe

Ingredients :

  • 2 bowls or 1/2 Kg. yoghurt, curd (Dahi)
  •  powdered sugar, according to taste 
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder 
  • Few saffron strands (Kesar)
  • 1 tbsp warm milk 
  • 1-2 chopped Almonds for garnishing 

Method :
Soak saffron in warm milk and set aside.
Put a strainer in a bowl, then line the strainer with a muslin cloth or cotton cloth. Now pour yoghurt on muslin cloth and keep aside for few hours so that the water drains completely. When the yoghurt is thick with no excess water, transfer it to in big bowl, add powder sugar, cardamom powder, saffron and whisk well. Transfer to an another bowl and keep refrigerator until serving time. Garnish with, saffron, cardamom powder and almond.
