Idli stir- fry recipe



Ingredients :
  • 8-10 Idli 
  • 2 green chillies chopped 
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp tamarind pulp or juice 
  • 1 tbsp sugar 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tbsp sambhar masala powder 
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint or coriander leaves for garnishing 
  • 2 tbsp tomato catchup for serving 
Method :

Chop the Idli into half or four parts. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin, mustard seeds, hing and crackle them. Add curry leaves and chopped green chilli. After few seconds, add tomato puree, tamarind pulp, salt, sugar, chilli powder, sambhar masala powder and saute for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Now, add chopped Idli pieces and mix well and saute for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame. Garnish with mint leaves or coriander leaves. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.
