Dahi wala sukha Masala Aloo (Yogurt dry potato) recipe



Ingredients :

  • 7-8 small or medium potatoes, boiled and peeled 
  • 1 onion finely chopped 
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • few curry leaves 
  • 2 tbsp onion paste 
  • 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cup curd or yogurt 
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil or 1 tbsp butter
  • Fresh cream or thick curd for garnishing 
Method :

Prick the potatoes with a fork or toothpick and keep aside. Heat oil or butter in a pan, add cumin and mustard seeds. Now, add chopped onion, curry leaves and green chilli. Saute till onion are light brown in colour. Now, add potatoes and saute for 1 minute on the high flame. Now, add onion paste, garlic-ginger paste and saute for 2 minutes. Add salt and all spices powder and saute for 1 minute. Now, add curd or yogurt and mix well. Saute until semi-dry. Then turn off the heat. Garnish with thick curd or fresh cream. It serve with roti, puri, etc.
