Chow chow ki sabzi recipe






Ingredients :

  • 2 pieces chow chow 
  • 1 green chilli chopped 
  • few curry leaves 
  • a pinch cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 tbsp split black lentils(Urad dal)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala or sambhar masala



Method :
Peeled, cut it in the center and remove the seeds. Now chop them into cubes. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Asafoetida, urad dal, green chilli and curry leaves and crackle them. Add chopped Chow Chow, salt and saute. Cover with lid and cook on low flame. After 1-2 minutes open lid and add all spices powder and mix well and saute for 1 minute. Now, add 1/2 cup of water and cover with lid and cook on medium flame for 5-7 minutes. Turn off the flame. Serve it with roti, paratha, chaval.
