Chatpatta Kabuli chana (Chickpea) stir-fry easy reci


Chatpata kabuli chana 



Ingredients :

  • 1 cup chickpea (kabuli chana) 
  • 1 onion finely chopped 
  • 2-3 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped 
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp cumin, carom, fennel, mustard, onion seeds mix (jeera,ajwain,sounf,rai,mangrail) 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp dried ginger (sounth)powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Amchoor(dried mango) powder
  • a pinch of sugar or jaggery 
  • white salt or Rock salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  •  coriander leaves for garnishing 
Method :

Soak the chickpeas in water for overnight or 6-7 hours. Now wash and drain well. In a pressure cooker, add  soak chickpea 2 cups water, 1/4 tsp salt and cover it with lid, boil for 1-2 whistles. Drain of all water and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan, add all seeds and crackle them. Now add curry leaves, garlic,onion, green chillies and saute for 1 minute. Now add boiled chickpea, all spices, salt, sugar or jaggery and  saute for 1-2 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the heat and add lime juice and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with roti, puri, paratha.
