Sarson(Mustard leaf) ka saag recipe

Ingredients :
  • 1 bunch Mustard leaves (Sarson ka saag)
  • 1 small bunch green spinach (Bathua saag )
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4-5 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies 
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/2 cup of water 
  • 1 tbsp Butter 
  • 1 tsp butter for garnishing 
Method :
Separate the leaves from the stems of the green vegetables. Now wash all the leaves in running water. It is important to wash them at least 3-4 times to make sure your get all the dirt stuck on the leaves out. Now, roughly chop all the leaves (Sarson and Bathua saag). In a presser cooker put both saag and cover it. Cook on the heat until 2-3 whistle. Let all the steam escape before opening the lid. And keep it aside to cool. Now, add in green chillies when the saag has cooled down, grind it in a grinder and make a smooth paste. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, onion and saute for a minute. Now, add the saag paste and mix together.  Add salt, 1 tbsp butter and mix well. Let it for for a minute or two. Remove from the heat. Garnish with butter and it serve with Makki ki roti.
