Sugar-Free Khajur or chhuhara (Dried date palm) Barfi recipe

Khajur or chhuhara (Dried date palm) Burfi
Sugar Free

Sugar-Free Natura

Given that the festival season is on, gorging on sweets is an activity no one refrains from. Oodles of sugar in your sweets and dessert does no good for your body, and you know that pretty well. Hence, today I have come up with a dessert recipe which is both very healthy and is completely sugar free. The best part? It is made with ingredients which can be commonly found in your kitchen's pantry on any given day.

To keep the dessert sugar free, I have used Sugar Free Natura, which is why this dish is both Diabetic-friendly and terrific for health-concious people. If you want, you can use any other artificial sweetener or even natural ones like Stevia too. I know, you want to cut straight to the chase, so without any further ado, the recipe:

  • 200 gms. Khajur or chhuhara (Dried date palm)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp deshi ghee
  • 1 tbsp Sugar free Natura powder
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 8-10 cashew nuts chopped
  • 4-5 Almonds chopped

1.Soak Khajur overnight in milk.

2. Now, de-seed the khajurs. Do not throw the milk you have soaked the Khajur in though.

3. Chop the de-seeded khajur into pieces.

4. Using the milk in which you had soaked the khajur, make a fine paste. For that, put them into a mixer-grinder and grind, until they resemble the paste as show in the picture.

5. Heat ghee in a pan , add the paste and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. Once the mixture begins to thicken, put in a tbsp Sugar Free Natura powder. When the mixture begins to leave the sides of the pan, you know it is ready. Put in chopped cashews, almonds and cardamom powder and mix well.

6. Put it on a greased plate or tray, spread and keep aside to cool down, as shown in the pictures.

7. After it cools down, cut it into pieces.

8. Enjoy your Sugar Free Khajur Barfi.

Note :
Here is my recipe of Healthy Sugar-Free Khajur Barfi. If you want you can add sugar too by substituting sugar-free with half a cup of sugar.
