Raw banana pakoda recipe

Banana pakodas

Ingredients :

  • 2 Raw bananas
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour (Besan)
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 turmeric powder 
  • a pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • oil for frying 
  • Water to mix the batter 
Method :
Peel the raw bananas and cut them into length wise slices. Now put the slices in salted water for 5 minutes. Now drain of all water and keep aside. Now make a batter, in a large bowl, add chickpea flour(Besan), rice flour, chopped coriander, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, asafoetida (Hing). And add little water and mix well. We need a thick batter. Heat oil in a frying pan,  dip the banana slices in the batter and fry them till golden brown colour. Now drain the fried banana pakodas on kitchen tissues to remove excess oil. Serve banana pakodas hot with any chutney or sauce.
