Aloo-papita (potato-papaya) ki sabzi recipe


Ingredients :

  • 1 small papaya (papita), peeled, cut into medium pieces and boiled 
  • 2-3 potatoes boiled, peeled and cut into pieces 
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • 2-3 garlic cloves chopped 
  • 1 tsp ginger chopped 
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp onion seeds 
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds 
  • 1 bay leave 
For spices,
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/4 cup of water 


Method :
In a bowl mix all spices , salt, water and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin, onion seeds, fennel seeds, bay leave and crackle them. Now add, ginger, garlic, onion, green chilli and saute for 30 seconds. Now add mix spices and saute for 1 minute. Now add, tomato and stir them. After 1 minute add in boiled papaya and potatoes and stir them. Now, add 1 bowl of water and cook for 5-7 minutes and turn off the flame. Serve with roti, paratha or puri.
