Masala Simla mirchi (capsicum) recipe





Ingredients :
  • 1 red capsicum 
  •  1 green capsicum 
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1/2 onion chopped 
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 star anise 
  • 2 cloves (loung)
  • 1 green cardamom
  • 1 small cinnamon stick 
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp oil 
  • salt to taste
For masala past,
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • capsicum seeds 
For  Masala paste step 1.
Step 2.
 Method :
Cut the capsicums and remove all seeds and keep aside in a bowl. Now chopped capsicum into small squares. Make masala paste: In a blender add, onion, garlic, ginger, capsicum seeds and make a paste. Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add chop capsicum and saute for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Remove Sauteed capsicum on a plate. And same pan, heat 1 tbsp oil, add cumin seed, star anise, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, when they are starting to crackle, add chopped onion and saute for 30 sec. Now, add the masala paste and all spices powder, salt and stir for 1 minute. Now, add chopped tomato and fried capsicum and saute for 2 minutes on the medium flame. Add the little water and cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on the lower flame and switch off. Serve with rice, rotis, pulao etc.
