Home-made garam masala



Ingredients :
  • 4 tbsp cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 tbsp black pepper (kalimirch)
  • 1/2 cup coriander seeds(dhaniyan)
  • 5-6 bay leaves (Tejpatta)
  • 5-6 red chillies (Lal mirch)
  • 12-15 green cardamom (hari elainchi)
  • 5-6 black cardamom ( badi elainchi)
  • 2 nutmeg flowers (jayaphal ka phool)
  • 1 nutmeg (jayphal)
  • 2 sticks cinnamon (dalchinni)
  • 8-10 cloves (Loung)
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds (sounf)
  • 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 5-6 star anise (chakri phool)
  • 2-3 pieces dried ginger or powder (sunth)
  • 1 tbsp bengal gram dal (chana dal)
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 tbsp rock salt (kala namak ya sendha namak)
Method :
Clean All whole spices by picking and discarding stones and debris. Now sun-dry them or roast lightly until they start releasing their aroma. Now, put all the roasted spices in a blender and make a fine powder. Now add rock salt, turmeric powder to this and blend well again. Now you can store it in an airtight glass jar for long time. Home-made spice powder can be used in all vegetables and dal, etc.
