Dahi wala Karela bharwa ( yoghurt bitter gourd) recipe


 Ingredients :

  • 250 gm. bitter gourd (karela)
  • 2 tbap oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 5 garlic cloves 
  • 2 whole red chillies or chilli powder 
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard seeds(sarson daana)
  • few curry leaves
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp sour yogurt (dahi)
  • 1 tbsp oil for shallow frying 
Method :
Wash bitter gourd properly and peeled. In a pan boiled water and 1/2 tsp salt. Now boiled bitter gourd till it becomes tender. Now drain all of water and let it cool down. Now cut length wise and remove all seeds. In a jar, add red chillies, garlic, mustard seeds, salt, coriander and turmeric powder and make find paste from it. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add cumin, black mustard seeds, curry leaves and crackle them. Now, add masala paste and stir-fry. Now after 5 minutes, add in curd and stir on the medium flame for 1 minute. Let cool it down for 5-7 minutes. Now fill fried masala to bitter gourd and keep it aside. Now put little oil on fry pan and shallow fry all stuffed bitter gourd till golden brown. Serve hot and cool with roti, chawal.
